Cool stuff Adam, You should look into making heat rise off ground to give it a more realistic feel
these look good I am not sure why there is a reddish tint to a couple of them but other than that looks fine.
looks like you are on the right track adam i agree with brad that you should add alittle distortion to give the effect that it is really hot. i think that would be a nice little addition to bring the sceen togeather
